>>35261908There isn't really an objectively correct order. I'd say either: 1) go Gen by Gen, if you want to play everything, or 2) choose according to what you'd like the most.
1) If you already like the concept of Pokémon and want to play (almost) everything, i'd say pay a visit to each gen, preferably the remakes or enhanced versions for the best experience:
Gen1: FR or LG
Gen2: HG or SS
Gen3: OR or AS (or maybe Emerald, idk)
Gen4: Platinum
Gen5: B or W + B2 or W2 (direct sequels)
Gen6: X or Y
Gen7: US or UM (S/M are also fine)
2) If you just want to get the best experience, than it probably depends on what you like the most (plot, exploration, side content, graphics, challenge, immersion, etc). If you give us a hint of what you like, it helps.
Examples:
For graphics, definetely go directly to Gens 6 or 7 (ORAS is also an option, as it's a Gen 3 remake made during Gen 6).
For plot, i'd say Gen5 is the best.
If you want a more classic experience, go with Gen1 or 2. If pixels and 8bit sounds are your thing, you can even grab the original version (non-remake) of those.
