>>35263070Except I'm the one who believes there will be a mainline game in both 2018 AND 2019, so your reply is silly at best.
Besides, we know a direct port is not only possible but probable - it's certainly easier, and they've been building on top of the same code base since Gen 3, so why stop now?
We also know it's capable of running at a higher framerate and resolution - not only are the graphical assets typically made at a much higher resolution then scaled down for the 3DS (meaning high-res, high-poly sprites and models already exist, therefore meaning a lot less work), but you can just look at Citra, are reverse-engineered PC emulator for 3DS, and see how much better those games can look on more powerful hardware.
So yeah, I don't think it's a stretch.
>>35263088I never claimed that though, did I? Also, I don't think you know what a port is. USUM are not ports.
Furthermore, I fully believe there is, or at least was, such a thing as Stars. There are plenty of Switch owners who have never had a 3DS and vice-versa, and Pokemon is a huge selling point. Pushing out a retooled game quickly to get people buying more consoles isn't unheard of, and USUM is proof that GF can easily just resell the same shite over and over again, and people will still buy it.
Personally, I'm expecting a new mainline game to be announced at or around (if not at, probably after) E3. I honestly don't care if I'm right though, because I hated the last three entries (XY were OKAY, but nothing more).
