I hope any potential remakes fix Cinnabar Island not looking like a volcano or having a volcano. That has always bugged me.

They addressed that in Gold/Silver, by having the volacano erupt, killing all life besides the pokemon centre.

They melted into the lava flow, like the other buildings on the island. Then when the lava cooled and hardened after the volcano shut down, the Pokémon Center was rebuilt. Apparently the Gym was the first building to burn when the volcano erupted. Blaine thought he was so clever but he built his Gym RIGHT ON TOP OF THE FUCKING CRATER!!

Considering how well Johto's maintained its traditions compared to developing Kanto, its not surprising that its less accessible, which is probably why the Bullet Train was built to begin with (like the actual Bullet Train in Japan)
