Smash is not confirmed for September. I would bet on that being the case because I absolutely expect it to release alongside the online services, but it might not. If it releases even in later October. then Pokémon will not be releasing until at least December, if at all, and if it releases in November, you can kiss Pokémon goodbye for this year.
Just like Odyssey being in late October saw Xenoblade Chronicles 2 being released on December 2nd.
They're not going to release a major title like Pokémon basically at Christmas. It would be waiting until probably February for an anniversary release then with some kind of lesser filler first - third party release in late December/early January so as to not put the huge releases together.
