ITT: Crime Syndicate ideas

I'll start: A syndicate dedicated to winning in the Pokemon League at all costs, employing cheating, performance enhancing drugs and unethical training/breeding programs to succeed.

You're welcome Gamefreak, this seamlessly mixes and integrates the requisite crime syndicate drama with the classic Pokemon League journey and also provides a unique meta-commentary for the writer to play with AND is a return to small scale goals like Gen 1/2 Team Rocket which helps move away from constant power/scale creep.

I like it. Maybe intertwine Mega Evolution and Colress’ research of forced limitations being broken again and again. Imagine the Lake of Rage shiny Gyarados getting it’s Mega, while unleashing Z-Moves without consequence. Each 4 of the foe’s moves can be a Z-move, mid-battle flavor text reads “The foe used _____! The foe’s Crystalline Drive overheated. Its ____-type Z-Crystal shattered as a result”

Team Chaos and Team Order, the names are self explanatory but I would like if the were like the original Team Plasma were. The people of the region would feel conflicted about the different teams and even important npcs like gym leaders start joining different sides.

Team Gilded a League of Owls type organization that acts more secretive than previous teams and there end game is to get their people in positions of power in the region. Unlike previous teams they not only try to steal powerful pokemon but also try to kidnap powerful trainers and train them to work for their organization.

Team Block, whose main objective is so block off as many routes as possible by standing abreast in narrow parts near the beginning of the routes. They don't have pokémon either.

We still need an evil professor. If not that, then a colleague who’s just a school teacher fed up with the Pokémon world’s mentality. Playing on themes from Sun/Moon (everyone can’t be a winner) and a touch of allegory for the sports star vs. higher education arguments we see a lot, the villain is trying to change everyone’s views on letting small children wander off before finishing their academic studies just to chase improbable dreams.
He/she works behind the scenes of a group of kids who go around causing mischeif and chaos, sending them out to give trainers a bad name while pushing for social reform as a positive part of the community. The teach/prof sees themselves as an unfortunate end to a justifiable means, but the deeper into the story the player goes the creepier they come off. Lots of abusive and borderline pedophilic undertones. In the end, the player actually rallies the kids composing the evil organization to turn a new leaf, while one of the good NPCs that ends up in every other cutscene drones on about the importance of learning by doing.
