I fail to see how they bring consequences to this board compared to starter-wars and annoying leak threads, and it's not really wrong to assume majority of /vp/ers are also furries, meaning banning them will make this board stay still and catch dust for months instead of weeks. There's just no worthwhile reason for this.
Of course, at the time /vp/ was created, it would be seen as a bad idea because it could bring more furries and turn it to /furry/ 2.0 quickly, but none of the higher staff nor Moot thought this, and were instead more focused on diminishing the frequency of Pokémon threads on /v/. Forward the time to nowadays, and here we are.
In conclusion, blame Moot for indirectly allowing more furries to join. Now there will never be a suitable time to delete /vp/, because tons of people here would complain that, including me.
