I never minded remakes in previous gens because the characters were basically faceless
the last time we got a same gen remake was all the way back with Platinum
I didn't mind dealing with text and events that I'd already played through, like with Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum, because you just pressed A repeatedly and went through the motions and moved on
But something about being forced to watch cutscenes with the same exact facial expressions and mannerisms that I'd already seen, with the only intention being for me to have some sort of emotional reaction that I'd already had a year ago, was just unfuckinbearable
I think I'll just have to wait to buy Pokemon games until I know whether the next will be a remake or a sequel, because the last version is what I'll prefer to play and enjoy, and the graphics are too good now to view the characters as only objects on a second playthrough
