I've visited France a few times, for extended periods, and met people from all over France.
The Parisians have a reputation for being snobby or rude - it's my opinion that this reputation has come from dumbass tourists over the years going to Paris and expecting everyone there to speak English, which would be annoying as fuck to the Parisians.
My first time in Paris I got lost from my school trip friends, every Parisian I spoke to for some info and some help getting back to where I needed to be was super lovely and really helpful - I spoke crappy French but they were super nice to me about it and just trying to speak some French built a lovely rapport with everyone I spoke to.
I spent time in other French villages, towns, cities, and met a lot of lovely people. A lady from Tours who I was staying with told me about how the Parisians speak with a heavier accent and she kinda implied that there was some argument over whether people in Tours or people in Paris have a more natural French accent, or something like that, it seemed like banter more than Parisians beings snobby, that was my interpretation anyhow.
