Plus, the way that the Vespiquen is so shocked suggests that the Ribombee is doing something bad.
And as aforementioned, Ribombee is inspired by a parasitoid kind of bug, so killing a Combee and using the corpse for its own purposes would be right up its alley.
So, I think a gruesome interpretation of the image is reasonable given the evidence, though I admit it could just be "harmless fun" (and I prefer to think of it that way). After all, I don't know what the artist's intent was with that image, so I can't say anything about it for certain.
