Get USUM if you don't own a Gen 7. Just mash A through the annoying and boring cutscenes and you'll be fine. The game is a 5-6/10

They are practically the same, if buying used get SM because its cheaper, if buying new just get USUM as there is just slightly more to do, story sucks equally in both games.

In terms of gameplay, USUM. In terms of story, SM. If you don't care about story or seeing Lillie have a definitive resolution to her character development, then pick USUM.

In fact you should just pick USUM anyway because it has extra Pokemon and forms.
