Was Amourshipping a revolution that changed Pokemon forever?

For those of you that don't know, Amourshipping is the belief that Ash and Serena from the Pokemon anime should be in a romantic relationship. And this ship is not just my favourite shipping, it is also the one that has been the most influential shipping for me as a person.

For me to tell you guys everything, I need to go back to when I first saw the hints of Amourshipping. It was the episode where Serena gave back the handkerchief that Ash gave her all those years ago, when she scraped her knee at Professor Oaks Camp. I was inspired to get back into Pokemon, which I had left by the wayside for 4 years at that point. I wanted to know everything and I immediately became a hardcore Amourshipper.

But that isn't too great, you may say. But that isn't all. Once I got back into Pokemon I became a lot closer to my friends and I was able to spread the Pokemon world to many others.

The next influential episode for me was the "date" episode. I had just finished studying Japanese culture so as soon as Ash gave Serena that ribbon I was so excited (for those of you that don't know, giving a gift to someone after a date shows that you are romantically into them).

Eventually I started writing my own fan fiction which has effected me in enough ways that I could make a whole post about it. This included things such as my creative writing abilities which has lead me to get my first job at my local Library.

Eventually with more and more episodes coming out, I was into Pokemon more than ever before. I had been through some really bad times at that point, and it was Pokemon that I went to, without it I probably wouldn't be here...

Eventually the XYZ anime had to finish, and if your an amourshipper like me, then you know what I am going to talk about next. The kiss scene. The kiss scene simply blew my mind and for me, if they took it one step further and kept Serena around, then I would have been happy.
