Cards for a pair of OC Hoenn trainers I was brainstorming.
Gabe’s a lackadaisical wanderer from Fortree with a fondness for grass types. He managed to bribe a young Tropius into being his starter with some fresh fruit. Raine from Mauville, on the other hand, took a more direct route by trapping a Voltorb under a trash can and hanging on until it exploded itself to exhaustion. She’s VERY enthusiastic about being a trainer, very competitive, and specializes in electric types.
Gabe gets declared her “eternal rival” after narrowly beating an overconfident Raine on her way to Fortree gym-
>But… but it’s a flying type! It’s flying right now! I HIT IT WITH THUNDERBOLT!
>…Well he’s grass too, y’know. Razor Leaf, by the way.
-but he just flies away on Tropius instead of listening to her rant at him. Given that it’s not the fastest flier though, and kind of a distinctive way to travel, she keeps managing to chase him down for rematches. Eventually they stumble their way into being friends and start traipsing across the regions together. Their teams start reflecting their partnership as well, with both of them catching rideable monsters in Gogoat and Zebstrika, and Raine manages to teach her Electrode Magnet Rise and sometimes flies around balanced on top.

That it freaks out Gabe is a nice bonus.
The Golem and Tsareena were traded to each other as gifts when they visited Alola, as a Graveler and a Stenee. When it evolved, the Tsareena became very pushy towards Gabe anytime it felt he was being lazy. Raine thinks this is the funniest shit in the world and encourages it.
This is probably more information than anyone cares about, but I haven't seen an OC trainer thread in a while and I wanted to share.
