The starterwars are finally over.
Decidueye got pokken.
Inciniroar got veggie sea.
Primarina is kinda useable in OU except not really but she got the best porn.
None of them will be in smash

The fact that it's still even considered in regards to popularity in spite of how much shilling the other two get is a testament on how much the design actually works.

In VGC Intimidate is king. It basically shuts down any physical threats in the opponent's side. Having at least one Pokémon with Intimidate in your team is always a good idea, and it's why Mega Manectric saw a lot of usage when it was VGC legal.

Halving physical attackers' Attack and not getting murdered by everything.

Also remember EQ and Rock Slide are weakened already due to being AoE effects.

Regarding the design, you can screech about it all you want - I really don't give a fuck. I just said that Primarina's popularity comes from its design, which is hard to argue against since it got absolutely no favoritism from other sources.
