By being far more profitable. The Layton series lost their puzzle master which lead to Lady Layton and Ni No Kuni was shit so so don't care much for Level 5 anymore.

ill admit pokemon have better designs than YW but YW makes up for unappealing designs with personality especially in the anime

the problem with yokai watch is that everything is just so heavily RNG based it makes grinding awful, dex completion nearly impossible, and bosses really frustrating

all valid criticisms, while I find the combat system really engaging I can see why a lack of input beyond placement in battle turns people off , I just got done beating the final boss of the 2nd game and jesus christ it was such a pain when one of my yokai would not stop missing, but I think the joy comes from seeing your yokai fight like a well oiled machine, but I do agree that the grinding for dex is a pain that needs more control for the player

Pokemon hasn't been good since XY senpai. USUM were flat out bad, with a lot of hardcore pokemon fans shitting on them. Pokemon is still successful because of name recognition.

Ok i may be exaggerating alittle but the main game provides ways to strategize, for example the final boss has an ability where she steals your yokai's level to make an enemy of the same level. This creates a risk vs reward situation, do you want her to steal your ace's level and turn it against your team? or would you rather keep your ace in the backline and let someone else take the level steal? It also is a nice gotcha against players who dumped all the exp orbs in one Yokai instead of spreading it evenly. Where as in pokemon its mainly "oh a grass gym, heres my flying type I win" I feel pokemon's main game doesn't provide many opportunities to experiment beyond type advantage. Pokemon has better strategy in a PvP scenario and YW has more strategy in the main game cause goddamn YW PvP is ass

Like shit they expected to be excited about a third version of two when three was already out. Like shit at least sell them for the original versions of two for $20 if we know they are going to be obsolete.

Yes but more people buy Star Wars tickets then there are people who buy Pokemon games. It's just that 90% of movie goers won't buy Merch/at most buy a coffee mug or something where as Pokemon fans buy up spin-off games, enhanced editions, and a shit ton more toys and Plushes then the average Star Wars fan.
