>>35329733You laugh but Fighting, Dark and Flying are all questionable types. Discipline and underhanded tactics hardly qualify as an element/type. If a fighting line was taugh to be Dark or vice versa with disciplining a Dark-hearted mon it should theoretically change type. These as attributes seem too easily converted, in my opinion they seem arbitrary. Changeable habits shouldn’t be equal an element in-universe. Periodically I get things right
All Pokemon fight, some moves should obviously be Fighting and they are not, even a dual-typed one would make sense. Tackle is Normal yet the football/rugby mon is Fighting
(not even half Grass?? wth GF)
>MegaSwampert isn’t buff enough to be fighting, it could’ve been the mud-wrestling representative>buff humanoid design isn’t an exclusivr hallmark of Fighting types eitherHere’s a list of moves that make you question the difference between a physical Normal move and your run of the mill Fighting attacks
>Barrage>Bind>Block>Crush Grip>Double Hit>Body Slam>Dizzy Punch>Defense Curl>Headbutt>Mega Kick>Mega PunchI could go on 2bqh... it all seems like those listed could fall on either side of an arbitrary defining line
Normal moves however have a generic charm to them that justifies their existence. Swift is just wish upon a star level non-Psychic magic coming from within the user without ESP prowess. Like accidentally using the Force. Hyper Beam is just raw life energy being spit up.
I’d describe Normal as the universe’s constant, the abundant, ever present, life force. That universe’s hydrogen if you can be asked to imagine that
TL;DR Sound is unique enough and specific enough to be it’s own type. Normal can have Special attacks without being sound-based. Fighting/Dark moves and designs are NOT intuitive unless you already know. Whereas 90% of suggested Sound-types fit their own mold
