You mean most manchildren, right? Children cycle out every season so they don't care. The only people I can think of who'd really want Ash replaced are the ones who've watched it so much that they're sick of him. And that's if the show hasn't stockholm syndrome'd them into liking it.

To be honest, the manga isn't much better. It has its fair share of problems and plays out like a generic shounen fairly often. Really, the only thing it does right aside from fugging zinnia is that it shifts protagonists so you get to look at someone else for a change.

Why do people always spit out buzzwords they don't know the meaning of? The only applicable buzzword here is OC and that's for two characters. Almost all of the cast has their basis and inspiration from the games.
