I’m not even mad. She went from a quiet shy girl to actually being able to realize her feeling for Ash in a kiss! That’s the most character development we have ever seen in the Pokémon Anime. Prove me wrong.

I’ll help you out tho, Lillie is also a character who has clearly developed since her debut. She is definitely getting more story than Serena ever had too. All I’m saying is that Serena was a great addition to the anime.

If the pinacle of character development is a no-personality protagonist becoming a generic love interest, then you need to watch a better anime. The ashnime sucks in every iteration. Get some taste.

I've watched all of Kanto, Johto, and Orange Islands. I watched most of Hoenn and most of Sinnoh growing up but I missed a lot of eps thanks to CN constantly changing its time slot for new episodes. From then on I just watched the gym battles, the rival battles, and the tournament arcs. I also watched a lot of key clips and I've been on /vp/ since before the endless onslaught of Amourshipping even began.

Yeah sure whatever. Point is, the ashnime has barebones character development. You could be watching infinitely better stories than this. Watch an actual romance anime if that's all you care about.

When we think about the Pokémon anime we have to remember it’s meant for kids, based on a video game, of course it’s going to be unremarkable. All I was saying is that Serena stood out from most Poké-girls

The orange islands arc is probably my favourite series because that’s what I grew up with. As for character shipping I’m very indifferent, if I had to pick AshxMisty 4ever right?
