When you breed a team, even if you have tested it on showdown, you have still a time disadvantage, also if the meta changes while you already have breeded, or you see that this team doesn't work with the opponent teams which you fight on the console, then you have another time disadvantage. Testing on showdown is not always the best solution because some team you can face on it, there will not be in the console, because people who plays can be different. Unless you can trade your team with another, this is why trading is a good thing instead, but you have to find the pokémon you need when they want the pokémon you have.
