As of USUM, there are an infinite number of universes where any combination of events is possible.

On that matter, there is nothing in XY that puts it in another universe from RSE. That was ORAS's doing.

In XY it was implied that the dead Pokémon that fought in the war had something to do with the creation of Mega Stones. I believe it was immediately retconned in ORAS, but still.

No, it was just radiation from the ultimate weapon, which was linked to the dead Pokemon. ORAS only added that some meteors got hit by the radiation, too.

i think rare candy is more about friendship since levels are more of a gameplay mechanic and what is actually leveling and evolution is about bonds and growth naturally.
That being said i like the idea of rare candy being evo stones but made into sweets.
