Dumb Sinnohfetus. Gen 5 is the ugliest in the franchise, between bad designs, hideous stretched sprites, tweened animations and gross semi-3D overworlds. HGSS is noticably uglier than Crystal.

Nostalgia is a disease get over your childhood and see with better eyes m8. Been playing since gen 1 and while I love all the games I can say that gen 5 was headed towards a more mature future. It was the end of the era and x/y began the series being geared and reset by the time they get to gen 10 it’ll likely be more mature too and just continue to reset.

Pokemon was well on that road the moment Masuda started to make things progressively simple in Gen 5 because, according to him, kids found Sinnoh too complicated and people had less time nowadays to play games.

The problem of YW was that they pulled out too many chapters and games in less time.
Also the gameplay was too random.
That's the level 5 problem as whole...see Inazuma eleven original trilogy and go trilogy (and now they're doing another game called ares).
But do i hope in the future a new challanger would appear as monopoly is bad for market and innovation.

Don't worry about it, while it hasn't been scientifically proven yet, I am almost certain that a gaming franchise is unable to swallow another franchise, whole or not.
