So I heard you guys like leeks.

>The next mainline Pokemon games will be revealed this week.
>The names are Pokemon Dark Past Version and Pokemon Bright Future Version.
>They are, of course, exclusive to Switch.
>2019 release.
>Set in mock-Japan once again.
>Both games take place in the same region, but 20 years apart.
>Though the map is largely the same, and the plot has similar aspects, the way you progress through the map (which towns you visit first and so on) is completely different and many of the key characters in the story will differ between the versions.
>Dark Past will play very similar to a traditional Pokemon game. It will retain the turn-based battles the series is known for and have a Gym progression system akin to older titles pre-Sun/Moon. It is meant for veteran players.
>Bright Future will have a brand new action-based battle system. Encounters will move you to a separate battle screen, but you'll be able to move your Pokemon around freely during combat. Each of the face buttons corresponds to one of your moves and each move has a recharge period before you can use it again. Basic moves like Tackle regenerate almost instantly, but the more powerful the move, the longer it takes to recover. It will also not feature a traditional Gym/Trial system, but it will still feature special "boss"-like battles in some form. It is meant for new players who wish to try a new way to play Pokemon.
>Certain areas in each game will swap battle systems, but as far as I'm aware, these swapped battles are all optional.
