Yo-Kai Watch 2 has the same deal as SMT. Actually deep postgame that rewards strategy plus it has online battling wtih an actually fair official banlist. Also a good monster collecting RPG that rewards a ton of strategy. The Busters titles have the same appeal as Monster Hunter: online strategizing and teamwork with others.
If you REALLY wanted an RPG with huge emphasis on online, there's a genre for that. It's called an MMO.
