Going back to single screen will fucking suck. There's no chance of a PSS-like system with that, you'll get more Festival Plaza bullshit.
Like XY, they're going to be trying to recapture lapsed fans, which means even more Gen I pandering. Expect the regional PokeDex to have the same shit we've seen since 2013 (XY, ORAS, RBY, SM, GS, USUM, C). Speaking of lapsed fans, there'll be a lot of catching up to do, so expect unskippable tutorials for every post gen II mechanic.
If you hate the models prepare to keep hating them, because they were built to be recycled ad infinitum.
And cutscenes look a lot better in 720p, so expect a loooot more of them! And don't expect to skip them, either
