This is the best-designed Mega from a gameplay perspective as it requires you to wait a turn or two (for Speed Boosts) instead of immediately Mega Evolving. And since you lose Speed Boost after Mega Evolving, you have to really make it count. This is the only Mega that requires skill and rewards smart play.

Sharpedonite at least has the sense that it was specifically designed for Sharpedo, unlike most of the other stones with obvious and universal benefits. I wonder how things would have worked out if GF embraced the mistake of making it a gen 3 frail mixed sweeper instead of trying to balance it out.

You wanna know what the most braindead megas are? mega blaziken, mega metagross, mega glalie, mega lopunny and mega rayquaza. They're so similar to their base form yet so much better that there is almost 0 situations where stratrgic timing on triggering the mega is rewarded.

That's qhy I've said almost 0 situations. Spomging t-wave with lopunny is nice but t-wave itself is less used than it used to be.

Mega metagross also loses clear body over regular, but I came across very few situations were it actually mattered because of sticky web. You might as well just mega evolve it and start killing shit.

Delta stream is basically an enhanced air lock to a degree: you remove another weather by placing your own, one that is hardly ever gonna be abusable by your opponent unlike rain and sun, you prevent other weathers from being set up, and you get your flying type weaknesses gone for free. I fail to see a situation where air lock is better than delta stream except if you're going against opposing rayquaza and want ice beam to still be x4 or a primal kyogre/groudon switches in.

Also thanks for reminding me of m-scizor, I completely forgot about it.

Yeah thats basically it, its a way to ward off Primal Groudon if your doubles partner happens to carry powerful Water attacks like Primal Kyogre. Using it against an opposing Mega Rayquaza is pretty reckless, as is using it to take the edge off of would-be weather boosted attacks. Outside of that, yeah just use the most powerful Pokemon in the game.
