What good is being autistically obsessed with something if you're not going to use it? I mean, yeah, I dislike people/crowds/noise but there's no chat or anything in this online so that's not an actual excuse, autistic or not. No one's forcing you to go to VGC if you go online. Actually, that would be terrible if they could since it would mean THEN I'd have to stop playing ranked as when I actually try I end up top 3 in my country and 20 - 100 in the world which I assume would see me being dragged into it, because I doubt they're going to go for the low ladder shitters.

It's a hack. You can tell by the trainer's name (a stream link), the Pokemon having perfect IVs, and the ball. These things show up on WonderTrade all the time. Usually it's just some dude trying to get stream subscriptions and shit.
That said, sometimes they give away shinies that weren't distributed outside Japan (like Diancie) or weren't made available ever (Hoopa, Meloetta), so they're cool to have, even if they're not legit.

Hack checker ignores aesthetic-only factors such as shininess, balls, OT etc.

At a VGC tournament, a judge could remove it from your team and give you a game loss, but they would have to manually inspect your team to do so, the automatic hack check is the same as the WiFi hack check so it wouldn't pick it up. You also can't be disqualified for aesthetic-only hacks.

All it'd take is some good parents and a few days of bike riding for each Pokemon. And in-between you can watch lots of anime, or something. Just pick a day when you have some downtime and go at it.

Alternatively, there's RNG manipulation, which in gen VI and VII, only takes minutes.

Also I don't consider RNG manipulation any different from hacking. I don't care about either, but I don't understand how people can be like "you can't gen your mons that gives you an unfair advantage" but then go "rng manipulation is a-okay".

This shit again. The difference between hacking and RNG manipulation is the difference between external and internal mechanics. Hacking is frowned upon because you're altering game code with an external device or program. RNG abuse is a-okay because you're not altering any code at all, you're merely predicting what it will do based on a certain set of parameters already built into the game. I'm sure you take issue with certain plugins like pokecalc, since they require the 3DS to be hacked in order to use, or emulator RNG. But what about sitting down with a GBA and a physical cartridge and timing it manually? I've done that plenty of times, no hacking, no emulating, no external devices of any kind, except a glorified stopwatch. Would you really say that's no better than hacking, too?

Listen, I don't give a shit what people do. They play the game how they enjoy playing the game. I only take issue with people shitting on hacking for not being how the game was "intended" to be played but then turn around and praise rng manipulation as an alternative. The devs never intended for anyone to manipulate the rng either, which is why I take issue with it being used as an argument.

What they mean by "intended" is how the Pokemon themselves were generated. But I'll play devil's advocate here and say, I think the devs definitely intended for RNG manipulation to be possible, since they've made it easier with almost every single release, with the exception of FRLG. R/S required a dead battery, Emerald could do it out of the box, gen IV let you set your seed with the DS clock, gen V finally let you determine IVs and nature separately, AND let you determine nature for mystery gift Pokemon, and gen VI/VII has just been an utter joke once they figured out what to do. And if we get really technical, shit like everstones, the destiny knot, and the shiny charm are all items that allow the player to influence the game's RNG. Even then, whether the developers intended its abuse or not, the fact that you're not straight up altering the RNG to work in an unintended way already makes it inherently different from outright hacking. The code works exactly the same as intended, you're literally just predicting what it'll do. Calling it akin to hacking, just because the knowledge of it is a little more esoteric, is like calling certain competitive strategies hacking, just because the knowledge is comparatively obscure to normal players. And yes, I can make this comparison, because if you're going to seriously get into competitive, you're gonna learn about all the hidden shit and how to obtain good Pokemon, and that often means learning about RNG abuse.

It was a special kind of hell, anon. Farming "lights" was the worst fucking thing. And that was just near the final step. There was still grinding myth tomes, and grinding FATEs in hopes of the minuscule chance an Atma would drop. Each step was designed to pad out weeks/months for the casual player, yet still be doable in days if you did nothing but eat, shit, and breathe the grind. To put it into perspective, I left that grind to go shiny hunting. Because it was more enjoyable and productive. Let that sink in.

Fair enough. I can walk away satisfied if you're at least interested in trying it out for yourself. You'll need a hacked 3DS for gen VI/VII games, but good news for you is that finding the seed is basically all automated now, and once you have that, all you need is 3DSRNGTool, which will calculate frames and spreads for you. From there, it's just a matter of advancing the frames, though there are a couple of caveats, like sometimes the frames advance evenly, other times it's odd, and sometimes NPCs fuck with it, so it's best done in certain areas of the game over others. That said, the entire process still only takes minutes, instead of hours like the older gens. Have fun, anon. Believe it or not, I enjoyed this exchange.
