>>35399469The most logical assumption is that that's a gameplay contrivance. Almost everything about breeding is an example of world building being skipped for the sake of gameplay. Various Pokemon are born holding eggs, with their own offspring, or have no conceivable way to lay or be born from an egg, or even contradict their own Pokedex entries by being born from eggs.
Additionally, the breeders wording isn't intended to be taken as the eggs literally "magically" appearing, their statements just mean the breeders never see it actually happening. Which is dumb, but again, world building and gameplay contrivance is a necessity.
Even if you ignore the "LOLOL POKEMON SEX" part, it isn't feasible for Game Freak to come up with valid and accurate statements for how every Pokemon might procreate. How does a Klefki lay an egg? Why would Solosis lay eggs at all when it would procreate through mitosis?
The logical and reasonable assumption would be that the method each Pokemon breeds via is not explained because it would be too complex, not really necessary and just not really something they want to tackle considering their audience, but it's safe to assume that the method of breeding will vary by species and just happens to universally involve eggs (and the whole egg thing could simply be put up to intelligent design because we already know the entire Pokemon universe was designed by a god-entity).
