At this point there's no excuse to not be introducing 300/400+ new mons per Gen. Fakemon artists shit out thousands of designs a day and while the majority are a shit a lot of them are interesting designs that could be totally refined enough by Game Freak to be released.

More mons = more merch = more money. And no matter what you say, every mon will have a fan base anyway. Why not give us more?

No, about 150 is fine in general.

The only exception being games like S/M/US/UM. Gen 4 should've been the limit of legends introduced with about 15% but they went full retard and made Gen 7 over 25% legends which would've required bout 170 in total to even it out.

1000+ pokemon is too much for most players (including autistic players like the majority of this board)
Game freak reduced the number from 150+ pokemon in BW to ~70 pokemon per gen after coming to that realization

Well 200 per gen is reasonable if the Region is huge. Some Pokémon get split evos like Wurmple.
Évolutions would be harder to achieve for certain Pokémon. Also a low amount of Pokémon with no evolutions(5-12/200)[not including legends]

I'm good with a lower amount of new Pokemon but I do think they should do more region forms that aren't just exclusively gen one.

definitely wouldn't mind bigger dexes, as long as they were well designed. collecting a variety of cool pokemon has always been the main attraction of the games for me, and some of the newer dexes have been so small that i've struggled to build a full team out of new ones. plus it's often just felt like encountering the same shit everywhere you go. i would love at least 150 per gen, and would totally go for 200, or even 250, so that regions feel like they have more fleshed out ecosystems.

I think 150 original mons would be best. Not overwhelming but it gives you enough variety. It would be nice if we got regional forms going forward though, it was a nice twist.

Fakemon artists shit their designs out.

They're shit.

Quality over quantity. It also helps that you're lumping together thousands of individual artists that just has to at most make a neat design and typing, compared a single art team and a studio that has to program the moves, abilities, stats and other data into the game. I could draw a hundred fakemon tomorrow but it doesn't matter if the whole process takes 2 or 3 days per pokemon.
