What's your favorite starter trio? Mine is Sinnoh. All 3 are great and I always switch whenever I play a Gen 4 game.

Same. Although I've only ever used Infernape in my playthroughs, I know that the other two are still great. Solid concepts with good execution.

Gen 2 is the only one where I like all three. A sauropod, a fierce mustelid, and a crocodilian make a cool set to choose from.

Second place is a tie between Gen 1, Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 6 where I like at least two starters each. Gen 7 and Gen 5 are pretty much the worst.

Literally the epitome of shoehorning in a type, like they did with all the dragon type megas in gen 6

Gen 3 starters are hands down the best. If a gen 3 starter doesn't excel in design, it excel in battle. Of course, none of the designs are bad, in fact I really like every gen 3 starter design, save Combusken.

My only peeve with the design. The metallic parts seemed “forced” on it. The artist probably went with Steel after making it’s beak a trident and decided to stick with the idea

When the Kalos starters were first revealed I thought they all looked so good but I really don’t like any of the final evos. What a disappointment.
