They don't get revealed, but they are given an official period of release. In January, Pokémon Switch was given "2018 or Later", so in two days (three months after the January report) it could be changed to "2018" or "2019" or even more precise, for example, "Fall 2018" or "Spring 2019".

They're not revealed during quarterly reports, but investors are given an official period in which the game will be released

The game has already been "revealed" in financial terms, but you can bet your ass the investors want to know when this game is coming out. It's basically a guarantee that we'll get a more specific release window, there's no way they'll keep the "2018 or later" thing this late in the year.
