Maybe singles is just a terrible format? Maybe Pokemon would be way more fun if it was doubles sans the legendary/mega power creep? I don't know, man. Maybe Pokemon as a whole is just shit mechanically?

The problem with any metagame is that centralization is bound to happen. Even if we follow Smogon's approach to the most extreme point and have a tier of 10 pokemon, there are going to be 1 or 2 that are better than the rest, so you'll see them the most.

Instead of tiers made by usage and banning what the top 3 cocksuckers want to ban, they should limit teams by BST. So if you put 3000 as a limit yeah, you can put Arceus and Mega-Mewtwo Y in your team, but the rest of your Pokémon must be very weak Pokémon.

And please, ban Stealth Rock.

OU is actually pretty varied, I come across lots of fun teams.

HOWEVER, Landorus is still on over 50% of these teams. Gamefreak's fault for making Ice Shard physical and not having a fast special attacking Ice type besides Jynx I guess.

You'd run into problems because some 'mons are just flat out broken and can sweep a team on their own. It'd result in teams like Mega Fug + Primal Groudon + Some Other Uber + 3x NFE shitmon

Singles being terrible is a huge reasom

Gamefreak balances the meta around doubles. It doesn't matter how hard you try, you are NOT going to have a quality singles format when the company balances for only doubles

Thing is, many pokemon were balanced by how hard they are to catch and train in singleplayer. A ttar is going to be a lot stronger than a golem. But ttar is also harder to find. Back when we were kids when you saw someone with a ttar you were impressed and wanted to know where he found it. But in smogon/showdown you dont have to catch or train mons so everyone uses the rarest and best

Reduce the number of fully evolved pokemon from 500 where 300 are shitty and worthless to 200 competent ones, but instead of culling all the garbage ones like Tsareena and Rampardos we eliminate them at Random

I hate how much this stupid fucking argument gets tossed around. Game Freak doesn't balance anything. Any changes you perceive to be balancing changes are decided at random by people who have stopped giving a shit.

Also if GF loves Doubles so much then why does every game of the last 15 years consist of 300 single battles and four double battles? If they love doubles so much then why don't they put any in their fucking games?

He said Gamefreak balances AROUND doubles, he never said they were successful at it. Everything they make Changes on is due to the doubles meta. Which is why Talonflame got gutted, Zapdos was never allowed Lightningrod, and that they see Blaziken having speed boost is perfectly fine.
