Calling it now, Torracat will evolve into a variant of Incineroar based on a face and will be Fire/Fighting.
This Incineroar will only be available in the new Gen 8 games, and will get a distribution similar to Ash Greninja. And also it gives GF a reason to shill Ash in the games.

Lycanroc knows Bite - Dark Type move, compatible with Darkinium Z

Torracat evolves into a part Dark Type and Pokemon usually learn new moves upon evolving, Darkes Lariat most likely, there, a Dark Type move.

TR do NOT have any Dark type Pokemon nor do any of their Pokemon know a Dark type move, this can change in the future however, Mimikyu can learn Knock Off and Mareanie can learn Bite.

They don't own Bewear and Mimikyu doesn't know any Dark type moves currently, it already knows 4 attacks (Shadow Claw, Shadow Ball, Wood Hammer and Play Rough)

The preview says 'since it learns' not that it knows, hence why I said 'in the future'
I was stating that Ash's Pokemon can also have the Darkinium Z, doesn't matter if TR also have it.

I wonder what move Mareanie is going to learn, it can learn Bite, Payback, Knock Off and Snatch, my guess is on Payback.

This must be bait, it just has to be. The previews tell us that a pokemon only needs to learn a dark type attack in order to use the dark Zmove. Torracat can learn multiple dark moves. It really doesn't need to evolve just use it later. Plus ash using the ghost move and Not sinister Arrow Raid.

How is Torracat going to evolve if Kukui already has an Incineroar? Usually the rival's starter is a step above Ash's starter, and the only time they were matched, Ash's Torterra never battled Paul's Torterra, or even interacted with it, despite the two having bonded somewhat when Ash's was a Grotle.

So unless they give Ash's Incineroar a special form like Ash-Greninja I don't think an Incineroar vs. Incineroar scenario is likely.

I can see it happening. Royal's Incineroar is more than just a rival; it's emblematic of the strength and capability Torracat has yet to tap into. My bet is that the evolution is going to happen either while battling against Nanu's Persian or against Hapu.

I don't think I've seen a serious battle between two identical pokemon period. When they happen one of the mons always has a different form like a shiny or mega, a special physical trait like the hair on Ritchie's Pikachu, or are just joke battles.

It got to headline a movie, is guaranteed for the manga, part of the "canon" team for Rainbow Rocket, got the most love from US/UM's move tutors and had the most work put into its Z-Move. It kinda clearly has GF's backing and understandably so: it's based on a Japanese cultural icon.
