Every single other gen has had at least screenshots and new Pokemon unveiled from March or earlier. Yes that includes R/S, despite what that one particular idiot seems to keep spouting. No, Masuda never said he wanted to unveil S/M in May like some other idiot keeps spouting.
Unless the game is a remake, there is an allocated period of time required for marketing the games (and the rest of the franchise) when a new Gen comes around and given that it's April 26th right now, we are past that point. It might break the pattern, but I can't see any reason why they would rush the hype when they will want to sell as many copies of this as possible and the 'April at the latest' rule has worked so well so far. Not to mention that the current pace of the anime and May episode names we have doesn't look like it's going to be even nearly finished by the end of 2018. I'm sure someone will try and tell me that they could squash the ending into 9 episodes if they tried, but the simple fact is that they don't and they never have.
