>>35426432I'm okay with knowing what's up going in (I actively seek out the info if it's available) but I'd prefer to learn it all from personal experience.
Or at least the majority of it.
What they really need to do is not bother with a demo since they're incompetent and will leak all the things with it, and make sure to have at least one unrevealed thing for every revealed thing or thing that can be inferred from what h s been revealed.
For example, revealing the starters should mean there are at least 18 Pokémon, 9 of which aren't shown in any stage because the two evolutions for the starter may not be known but can be inferred from the starters themselves existing. Using Kanto, if they showed Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, then they should not reveal, say the Nidoran lines or the Poliwrath
lines.at all so there are 9 revealed and 9 not revealed.
Revealing as much as they have in trailers is fine, but it really takes away from the (already almost entirely lacking) feeling of exploration when they intentionally show or at least imply 75% or more of the Dex beforehand.
Same should apply to NPCs, items, story events, and locations. One not shown for every one shown. Of course it'll never happen because "muh mobile gamer kids don't want content." but it should.
