Giratina has a nice design at least, because it actually looks menacing and intimidating, and is legitimately seen as the shadowy demon figure it's supposed to be in concept... but Dialga and Palkia really drag the whole creation trio down. The legendaries have only gotten better since. Reshiram and Zekrom embody opposite concepts and they're deliberately designed to have contrasting themes of masculine/feminine, natural/machine, and basically yin/yang as a whole; Xerneas looks like a benevolent forest spirit while Yveltal is an ominous red veiny bird with creeping fingers; Solgaleo and Lunala are so obviously indicative of their theme it's not even funny, and their designs are layered with imagery... Dialga and Palkia fall flat in comparison.
