And he's right. I'd wager a significant number of leave voters in Brexit fall under this bracket. Rather than admit they don't want more Muslims and foreigners in their country they tow the leave party line of "taking back control" etc.
Not saying everyone who voted leave is racist, however, some definitely were and they would never be able to voice those opinions due to the scrutiny they'd receive.
I really don't think it's a bad thing to acknowledge either. I'd rather the people who were racist were able to admit it so we could figure out why they felt that way. It's definitely better than everyone claiming not to be racist whilst not letting their kids play with Muslims and telling Shaneesha that her name is "too complicated" so you will just call her Sarah.
