Leafeon actually repaired what was lost in Gen 2 by reincorporating the Eevee line's unstable DNA theme to mix with its element. Having "plant-like cells" that gives it energy through photosynthesis, despite its simplicity, is the second most interesting concept from the line behind Vaporeon's ability to melt and reform at will.
Glaceon is easily the worst though.
