I am NOT addressing Sun/Moon exclusively. I believe 3 times at least in this thread, I've stated THESE ARE THINGS DONE IN THE PAST. Gamefreak has not always had every evolution item in infinite supply so just because you can buy water stones in SM doesn't mean that was always or will always be the case.
How is trade evolutions not just as big of a reason to trade as version exclusives? The whole argument was that they don't NEED version exclusives because there are other reasons to trade. In fact, trade evolutions are more important because if you ever want another alakazam that's a second trade. If you ever want another meowth, just breed the one you have

My original point was that items can be used to encourage trading. And that people trade for items all the time. You have yet to dispel any of that. You really think you are on a whole other level of intelligence though, don't you?
