Misty/Brock's SM cameo was a way to reintroduce their characters to younger fans who never knew who they were. Besides the 20th anniversary, what if this was foreshadowing of a Kanto remake?

If it is, what would the anime do? Would they actually have Ash travel through Kanto a THIRD time, and bring back Misty/Brock as companions? If Movie 20 was any indication the writers would possibly use new characters over Misty/Brock, but who knows.

For the first time in 15+ years, all those rabid Misty fans who angrily claimed Misty would return to the main cast someday...might actually be vindicated. Good god.
