But that's 40 dollars worth? 40 dollars is the same price as a game made from the ground up. 4 new pokemon and a 90 minute episode was the same amount of work?

Yeah, I think 3ds games are cheap and this game has more changes and provides a new adventure with me bosses
If you're not the sort to enjoy upper versions of pokemon games, maybe it isn't, but my favourite games are emerald and platinum so this game tickled my fancy
don't regret buying it at all, very few games give me as much enjoyment as pokemon

If you never played SM go for USUM. Incomparably better pokemon distribution, more coherent story, new pokemon, move tutors, new egg moves, new totem pokemon you can acquire through a collection quest, better postgame.
