I'm 33 and I dropped Pokemon around 25. So around when Black/White came out. I also played Diamond untill the third badge or something. I felt that I was too old and moved on to other things.
Flash forward to ORAS release and the road to it. I had a 3DS with a couple of games but didn't really do much with it. ORAS is announced and I felt the itch again. Especially since Sapphire was the last Pokemon game I really enjoyed. I bought it for nostalgia sake and after a few hours of playing it I felt like an idiot. Dropping something because "lol I am too old" is fucking stupid. Life is short. Enjoy it while it lasts. I am now fully back on the Pokemon train and I couldn't give less of a fuck what people think about it. I went back and played the games I missed too. Platinum is great. HG/SS are more nostalgia bombs and Black and White were...meh. But the sequels were pretty damn good. X/Y where sort of enjoyable but something about those games seems off to me. Gen 7 is sort of a dissapointment. But it's not the unplayable trash people make it out to be.
