Why is using a horn to charge into something considered an intrinsically Bug-type technique?

Shouldn't it lose the Bug-type affinity when used by non-bugs?

It was intended solely for Heracross and GF hates retconning.

Yes they've done it in other things but their justification is "lol another universe". They seem to try to avoid it whenever possible.

By gen 4, everyone remembered megahorn as the move Heracross uses, and as a bug type move. It would be odd to retype it by then.

The point is, they're Pokémon not animals, hence why not all Pokémon are animal-like. And biting is dirty fight.

Pokemon are absolutely animals. They may have varying intelligence levels, but this doesn't discount that they are the animals of the Pokemon world.

Fighting fair has nothing to do with it and you know it. Scratching is very underhanded, as is headbutting, but you don't see those as dark types. Bite is only dark because they swapped it from normal in gen 2, and its description has never said anything more than "biting with sharp fangs". Not an inkling of underhandedness

No, they aren't. The distinctions are obvious. All Pokemon have an inherent desire to fight and grow stronger, they don't act solely using their survival instincts.

I guess it's just a technique, there are pokemon that can attack more naturally using said technique like heracross and others that even while having horns can't exploit it as perfectly as bugs
for example, some fishes have to go to deep waters for their preys, some birds dive too but their reach is pretty shallow, in that case the fishes have STAB

You made me think it would neat for a movie to always match the user. Like body slam, but if you're a fire type it's a fire move and so on.

Again, whether they are animals or not it doesn't change the fact that bite is just a regular old move thats typing is only there because GF did it for gen 2 and onward. Theres no deeper meaning behind it, and there is no unfairness in biting. Its a basic function, get over it.

It was exclusive to Heracross when it debuted.

Plus in Gen 7, the animation has some sort of green energy (similar to how Megahorn is depicted in the anime), implying that the horn is imbued with Bug-type energy which it what gives it the Bug type.
