Hey /vp/ I never had a gameboy in my life. I mostly played Pokemon on emulators but I never finished a single one.

I got a DS Lite and played a lot of Platinum but then my DS Lite broke and I never finished it.

Today I finished Ultra Sun. Well became the champion there seems to be a lot to do still.

Anyways I played a bit of Moon but it seems to be mostly the same.

Seeing as Ultra sun was so good would you recommend playing X and Y?

How are they gameplay and story wise compared to US/UM?

XY are a downgrade in almost every way beyond O-powers, online interface, and grinding. They offer better Pokemon though.

Despite what other anons are saying, Y and X are pretty good, this is coming from someone who played moon first. Bonus point if you can get your hands on a hack

He doesn't have much time, read his post.
If he has little time he must play only BW2. Otherwise yeah, play BW and BW2. And then FR/LG if you have even more time, but he says he has little, so. Or wait for a possible kanto re remake.

X and Y is the weakest Pokemon game in my opinion. It has the worst evil team, the characters are forgettable, and it's the easiest of all the games. It has a really large in game dex, which is nice. But not a lot of new Pokemon. (the smallest of any generation I believe) You get a Kanto starter early in the game, which can Mega evolve once if fully evolves. But other than that not a lot of Mega Pokemon you can use until post game. I thought it was okay, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're trying to play all the games.

XY has a fantastic regional dex and the game is far, far less interruptive than gen 7

Beautiful region, fast pace, rather big region. Just turn off the exp share because it makes the games too easy

But overall they are great

If you finished UltraSun, not a lot of reason to finish Moon too desu. I never actually played my copy of Y yet, but ORAS is quite decent if you like RSE. If you liked US you would probably like ORAS and XY too

What would you recommend X/Y or ORAS? Going back to DS games seems like a big downgrade graphics wise.

Since you talked about the graphics, try looking up XY and ORAS gameplay. Some people abhor the chibi artstyle. Personally it didnt bug me at all. Again, since I only played ORAS I would suggest ORAS, but XY seems pretty good as well.

bw isnt even that good, too much >deep lore, and most pokemon were either kinda shit or just plain recycled for the sake of new ones, i found oras to be better, but not better than the original games
