Not to mention it always made it feel limited on what you'd pick, and I felt like I would gravitate towards certain mons that would work better than the others each playthrough because of it. It's definitely harder because of it, but I've only played through twice since I realized both sessions were roughly the same with only a few swap outs.
I just liked Gales of Darkness giving a large variety with Eevee (choice from five different evolutions), wild mon, and a large amount of interesting Shadow Pokemon to form a team with. Variety is always nice in a Pokemon game.
