Funfest missions aren't locked to one place.
Funfest missions weren't dependent on other players to be effective.
Funfest missions were great for item farming.
Funfest missions are actually fun.

i said basically because the only real difference is that funfest missions are playable all around the region. everything else you said is dumbass nitpicking. festival plaza missions give you FC which, believe it or not, is a currency that you can use to obtain things depending on the facilities you have

Join avenue used ingame currency instead of a stupid area specific currency. Join avenue rewarded players for using the shops by upgrading them unlike festival plaza.
Join avenue level up shops didn't have level limits

Sorry dude but I can't speak fondly of festival plaza at all beyond bottle cap farming.

You know it would've been nice if it was an actual online hub where actual players were inside it. Judging by the concept art that might have been the idea. Just pisses me off how gamefreak always has to rush their half-assed games out.
