I don't much like fighting games though, so I've played it but not much.
Especially in this case because it's even lower tier in interest for me because of what it's based on.
Game like Dragonball Xenoverse/2 for example, work because they've got large fields and fast action and cool abilities and are most importantly are based on a manga/show about fighting.
There's another game coming up for the Switch I'll buy and likely enjoy as well. The name escapes me at the moment but it's a kind of indie Smash and the characters I know of in it are from beat 'em up type games. The one I know is technically an RPG but the combat is more beat 'em up. So again, the transition to fighting game makes sense.
Pokémon is about the battles but not in that way so a fighting game based on it, or using characters from it is meh compared to the origin product.
