Was talking to some people on discord voice chat (won’t name any), and one of them is involved in the industry. Somehow they got a source close to nintendo and game freak regarding pokemon switch. Although they weren’t allowed to tell us much, what they said was rather interesting

>game freak is unsure about a 2018 release, however nintendo is confident that the game will release later this year
>the game at the very least should be released before the end of 2018 fiscal year (ends March 2019), though a delay isn’t out of the question
>the game itself (or games, two versions) will not be gen 8
>basically a remake, although not remakes of diamond/pearl

Then some of us were guessing if it were red/blue remakes since rumors have swirled about kanto remakes for a while now, then they said that “we’re not that far off”
