It's pretty clear they were so concerned with the graphics it affected the rest of the game. I was saying that day 1 because it was pretty damn obvious.
Then they pull the shit where the camera does whatever the hell they want it to do instead of giving you some control options. Which the DS could in fact do - other games did it - they were obviously just too lazy to actually make the shit off screen so you'd just be looking into the void if they did that.
Gen 4 was as 3D as they needed to go.
And this is what pisses me off most about games like this. If you're going to put so much focus on friggin' graphics when you shouldn't fucking be, at least do it right. And yes, the same applies to Gen 6 and especially 7 where they were programmed with the New 3DS in mind meaning they had the fucking built in nub to set camera controls to. Lumiose City being the absolute worst offender though.
Gen 5 was only saved by B2/W2 continuing the story and actually adding some features. It would have been the worst Gen if it weren't for B2/W2.
