He even whined about not getting enough time to implement some of his ideas in the anime. That tells you how hard they were trying to make it a masterpiece.
Also, The entire pokemon community was active during XY. PokeAni was trending, After almost every amour focused episode. Even /Padt/ used to be quite active compared to Now. And that's how you spot a successful anime. It ignites discussion.
But i cant say the same thing about SM. Its like nobody gives a fuck anymore, not even the writers.
