Crunch is a terrible move for dps, Foul Play or Dark Pulse out damage it considerably. Honchkrow is likely to have both or either one of them.

Moves matter as much or more than attack stat you fucking mongrel.

Noticed something pretty funny today. Niantic recently said they'd be taking extra steps to combat spoofers in Pokemon Go. So I looked a bit into how they do it in Ingress right now.

Ingress has a pretty funny set of permissions required to run the game. It can see all your installed apps, get full data on your internet connection, see which other internet connections are nearby (you're fucked if your phone detects your neighbor's wifi), and here's the real funny one.

Ingress runs on startup.
Not just on startup, Ingress runs 24/7. If you download an advanced task manager app and kill it, Ingress instantly launches again on background, scanning your apps and scanning for your neighbor's wifi.

Ingress is LITERALLY spyware.

So if Niantic is serious about the "extra steps to combat spoofers" bit, expect to see something like this in Pokemon Go soon.

Best advice I can give you is, raid groups are usually irrationally scared of shortmanning raids. Like holy shit you don't need 8 people for a Tyranitar you can do it with 3-4 just fineeven with level 25 shitmons.
When this happens, talk the group into splitting into two. Tell them in two groups of 4 every single person will be getting more balls than in one group of 8 because of individual damage bonuses. That's not even a lie. And when this happens... sneakily have all the Instincts be in the same group.
Bam, you go from +1 damage +0 team to +2 damage +2 team.

Well that's just not true. If the lvl40 players are outnumbered, they can have perfect lvl40 pokemon and still lose team bonus every time because it's less than a 15% improvement over a lvl30let.

Outside of CD they're the same as ever, 1/512 or so. During CD nobody's really sure, estimates go from 1/16 to 1/32.

if your pokemon is fainted, if you power it up , it will gain some cp, and that includes one extra health. that means, the extra health works like a 1 hp. and then you can potion the newly revived 1 hp pokemon.

I just don't get why players do this. Either you are too stupid to not switch your mons when they are about to faint or just don't spin enough or do raids. I have 80+ revives atm and over 1mil stardust.

Does that trick really work where you purposely time out of a 1 star raid like a Magikarp, then try it again so that to can farm the "Battle in 10 Raids" Mew quest? I tried it once against a Sableye and it only counted as +1 raids done. Maybe you have to exit the gym between raids or something?

Not really, games have gotten cheap and riddled with glitches. Too many beta releases, 10gb patch updates, too repetitive, garbage overpriced DLC, too poorly made in general. There are still some decent modern games out there, of course, that are worth playing through, but most of it isn't as good as it used to be. And I know I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Latios is the 6th best Psychic attacker in the game over all and the 2nd or 3rd best depending on how you rank. Has comparable TDO to mewtwo and Metagross, slightly better DPS than Gross and only loses in DPS to Zam, Mewtwo, and Espeon. Gen 4 the only competition is Azelf which is a slightly better Zam.

So as far as DPS rankings go he's 4th and for TDO he's 3rd.

Latios has the dragon typing which is only shared by his counterpart, Latias. That dragon typing gives it some decent resistances. Plus, if you just happen to like Latios and want to use it, go ahead. There really isn't a reason to use a party of 6 Mewtwo over 6 Zam's or Latios right now or maybe ever.

Maybe down the road you will need to maximize DPS and TDO to duo some T4 raid, but for Solo T3's and T5 raids, any mon that isnt Blissey does just fine. use whatever flavor you want.

Usually it's cancerous multiaccounters shaving to make room for themselves in an already full gym. Selective berrying is usually reserved for "holy shit everyone hates you" territory, though one time I did it to help someone re-deploy a different pokemon in a gym to complete the gym theme.

There should really be a level floor that prevents one from placing a pokemon in a gym that is X amount of levels below their trainer level.

Though, I will say I sometimes do place low level mons that I need candy for in gyms (ie: beldum, larvitar) and then just pump them full of berries.

That being said, I think a level floor would be good. I do kinda hate how sometimes I'll grand down a gym, place a high CP mon because I want to hold this one for a few hours, only to find someone plopped a pidgey in after me.

IVs don't matter. Stardust matters.

Leveling up a mon past level 30 is awful since each powerup is half what it is before level 30. Best to just catch higher level mons and leave them be. And power up lower level promising mons to level 30.

The vast majority of a pokemons CP will be gained at the levels up to level 30, and these are also the levels that require the least amount of stardust.

>20 -> 30 is only 75k stardust
>30 -> 40 is 250k stardust

Most of the power a pokemon has comes from those first 30 levels.

Machamp is the only reason I do 3 stars, I rather go for the shiny chance from 1 and 2. If I didn't have such bad luck rolling machamps(literally never rolled DP and I have multiple 90%+ steel moveset machamps) I'd probably stop using my free raid pass on them.

This is a percentage chart, every individual combination of IVs still has the same chances of happening.
7/8/9 is just as rare as 15/15/15 and as 0/0/0.
It's just that there are lots of combinations that form 50% but only one that forms 100%.
Same as throwing dice, 7 is the most common result but every dice still has the same chances of landing at each side.

That's unfortunate, that's why Niantic really need to correct the EX raid system so that they don't go out during work days or work hours.

My raid is 1:30pm on Tuesday 15th May. I work at that time, but I may be able to book a half-day of leave so I can leave work at 1pm and walk to the raid, it's walking distance luckily.

People have done that before, have someone close proxy attend the raid.
As long as you aren't using the account at the same time. I don't know the risks though, I've not tried it or know cases well.

i did that. had a friend of mine attend for me. went offline 30 minutes before the fight (because it took me 30 minutes normally to get there) and then i got the messages and logged on 30 minutes after the fight (so that it though i had gone back) and then i saw my lucky 98,7 % mewtwo in my hands.

fair reminder i did change password of my google account before the match and changed it back after. you never know, what can happen.

Man, the "earn a candy while walking with your buddy" quest should give you the encounter of your buddy. It would help out people so damn much.

Instead of having to walk hundreds of kilometers for the 5km buddies, you can get these quests to help out.

And, to make it so that people can't farm legendaries, just make it so that they're excluded from this research quest.

Pokemon that were higher up in the dex (e.g. Eevee and Dratini) that weren't nest spawns had a higher likelihood of basically always having 15 ATK IVs. When they fixed the dex IV bug, they also fixed nest spawns having shit IVs so nest spawn IVs are no different from normal spawns.

This was a launch-era issue, and they fixed it in December of that year.

Battling is better for badge exp if you can find a gym that gets berried often. Easily plow through a couple thousand exp in an hour if somebody is desperately golden razzing.

I'm hyped with the current event because fighting is my favorite type and Meditite happens to be my favorite mon.
I know it's not a very popular choice for a favorite but I hope finding shinies of it helps more people remember it exists.
Now it would be great if they would fix the line's poor stats caused by the lack of abilities but this is the best next thing.

Gyarados role is water DPS plain and simple. Bite/Hydropump was good when Waterfall wasn't available, but now it is.

Machamp likely is fighting DPS. If it has a steel type move, TM it to fix that.
Close Combat is okay, but what you really want is Dynamic Punch. That move paired with Counter is fucking fantastic.

That said Machamp is easy to come by because of how common Machop have been lately, and Machamp consistently being a tier-3 raid boss. Don't use TMs unless it's really outstanding IVs and you want to power it up.

It is, it's 15/14/15.
I have way over 1mill dust cause I've never spent it. This Gyarados and Machamp are going to be my first powered up mons.

Close Combat is a one-bar move with 100 power.

The latter charges much faster and can be used more frequently, it's just that much better.
Close Combat is roughly 70% as effective as Dynamic Punch because of this.

Despite this, the game prefers Close Combat over Dynamic Punch when auto-selecting gym rosters, it only looks at the base power of the move without accounting for energy requirements.
