well edgy is more of a personality thing

The anime always depicted its crest like a emo combover.
I prefer how the games approached it, with the crest being stiff and centered like a pompadour. It makes Staraptor less edgy, and more apparent that the line was building up to a starling that has a star-shaped crest.

Not, but official art gives some vibes.
Probably still the best example of s bird of prey. It's some kind of eagle that migrates to Hokkaido, I guess it needed a colored point otherwise it would look like Pidgey if kept the same colors even on its details.
